Biography

Vivek Tiwari received a B. Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India in 1991, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 1996. He is currently working in the Low Power Design Technology group at Intel Corp. The charter of the group is to reduce power in Intel's high-end microprocessors.

The focus of his current research is on tools and microarchitectural techniques for power reduction. He has held research positions at NEC Research Labs (1992), Intel Corporation (1993), Fujitsu Labs of America (1994), and IBM T. J. Watson Research Center (1995), where he worked on related topics while pursuing the doctoral degree. He received the IBM Fellowship in 1993, 1994, and 1995, and a Best Paper Award at ASP-DAC '95. He has served on the technical program committees of DAC, ISLPD, and VLSI Design.
